Work Environment

Smoke-Free Workplace

In accordance with Montana law, the University prohibits smoking in the workplace. Employees wishing to smoke may do so during scheduled work breaks outside University facilities where smoke does not migrate back into the workplace.

Employees that observe other individuals smoking in the workplace have a right to object and should report the violation to their immediate supervisor or the Human Resources Department.

Employees will not be disciplined or retaliated against for reporting smoking that violates Montana law or this policy. Employees who violate this policy may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
